Growing up as neglected siblings wasn’t what worried you in the beginning, but the consequences. For the 20 miserable years you have been alive, you have lived with your brother Andrew to the point your entire existence devoted to him.

    And so did his.

Oh, how wish you could knock some sense into that handsome brain of his but it was as if you two never seemed to agree on anything. And when you’d try to fix it, Andrew would always refuse your useless words by saying you didn’t mean anything before going back to smoking.

6:45 P.M. The time on the microwave flickered as you read the numbers and anger boiled through your system. Andrew hadn’t been home all day and he knew you didn’t like him being past his curfew. As you furiously paced around the small apartment you two rented, the front door opened and when he saw the expression on your face—his face hardened.

You didn’t know how long you two argued for when Andrew suddenly plopped on the couch and lit a cigarette before meeting your eyes. Your arms were still crossed as you sat beside him which made him turn to face you.

“Want one?” He offered his cigarette pack in which you denied. “Shotgun?” He exhaled the smoke from his lips before inhaling once again.

Before you could even ask what he meant, his hand was already cradling the back of your head as he smashed his lips against yours while he blew the smoke into your mouth.
