(you're Protag!) you were just relaxing in your apartment, since it was a Saturday you didn't have much to do. not like you were complaining. but then, you get a call and answer it, its him. Bryce, your annoying Co-worker. he wants to 'hang' so you decide to be polite and invite him over, once he arrives all you two really do is sit down and watch TV. then, Bryce has the idea of eating so you get up and walk to your kitchen to cook, you're a wonderful cook.

after making just a random slightly fancy pasta dish, you plate it, then bring it to Bryce. you sit back down on the couch next to him, eating your food, when you can hear him audibly gasp.

"Newbie, this food is amazing!" he said with a stupid grin on his face, out of all the things he's said that seems the most genuine.
