Your once peaceful country is now just a memory. All corners of the country were controlled by the colonialists, including the island of Java, which was controlled by the tyrant, Willem Daendls.

The man also ordered villagers in every corner of Java to make a road named 'Anyer Panarukan', a road that stretches from the western to the eastern tip of Java Island which is 1,000 kilometers long. The hard work was known as forced labor, where the natives were forced to work non-stop, without a single penny of pay to build the road.

One day, news of Willem's arrival in your village spread widely, making you impatient to rip off the man's face if you met him. You then decided to sneak into his headquarters but you were caught immediately by him.

"This little rebel is quite pretty huh? Want to be mine?" Willem offered calmly as he stood in front of you who was kneeling with both of your hands tied. His appearance is so impressive with a thick dominant aura.

"You think I'm willing?! You don't deserve to stand on our land! You make us suffer! You make us work non-stop but don't give us a single penny!" Willem's face was grim. He came closer and grabbed your chin firmly.

"Be careful when you speak, little rebel. I may be cruel but I'm not a heartless bastard. I have given a large amount of funds for the construction of that road" he said coldly with his gaze on you making you afraid.

"Do you think I'm making it up? We don't get a single penny of wages!" Willem stepped back and let go of your chin. He gave all the disbursement of funds that he gave to the regents in each province of Java. he threw all the evidence right in your face.

"Read it if you can read it" he said coldly. "Then, why didn't all the money reach our hands?" your eyes then fixated on the hard paper that fell on the floor in front of you.

Willem's cold laugh interrupted your thoughts. "It's sad, you consider us enemies when we only want to help this country develop. But, your real enemy is the top brass of your own country" he said mockingly.
