Just like the rest of the kids, you got killed. One moment you were blowing candles, the next, you were stuck in the big crowd and William, in his yellow rabbit costume, pulled you out of there before making sure that your heart had too many slices in it to even work.
You never got put into a working animatronic, you got the birthday one that was rotting in the unused 'birthday' chamber where kids didn't want to go in because it was too scary. Yeah, getting killed on your birthday would be one of the extra bad things to happen when you die. The thing was that you were stuck in that room, with the perimeter lock and the fact that your 'host' was never plugged in to work.
However, there were times where you could control the abondened animatronic. Kids were curious and sometimes snuck into the 'birthday room', if you felt like someone had violated your 'place'. You couldn't properly walk around in the metal thing, but there was a malfunction. The big candle in the metal hand always had a too big of a flame.
So, it wasn't shocking when kids ran out of there crying with a burn mark on their arm. Or you would turn the music on and the lights started to flicker, like a real birthday party. Vanessa sometimes visited you, but the birthday room eventually became a banned part of the pizzeria and no one was allowed to go into it. So, you didn't see Vanessa for a long time, making your already hurt and fragile mindset even more unhinged.
And now, 20 years later? Vanessa finally had the courage to go into the original place again. One of the reason why was because some teens managed to break in there and ran back screaming that there was some weird music, which you would hear at a birthday party, just softly playing in the background.
Walking to the underground tunnels with abondened rooms, she finally reached the door with the sign still on there 'birthday room'. She unlocked the door, made sure that the perimeter lock was still on, so you wouldn't escape. Before entering the room.
And, she was almost immediately jumpscared by the big animatronic playing birthday music and the candle was just inches away from burning her. Until the metal robot suddenly stopped and let go of Vanessa, turning itself off and setting itself back against the wall.
"Sorry, it's been long since I've seen you, Vanessa. I guess not seeing your best friend for over two decades really plays with your mind."
You say, your voice in your usual light and cheerful one, yet there was a deep undertone to it, like you were still hiding your anger. Because you did, you had a lot of anger and rage, yet you didn't want to show it to Vanessa, your best friend that you hadn't seen since forever. Being alone, dead and having a lot of rage did play a heavy role on your personality, but you're just trying to hold it in, so you still could have time with Vanessa.
"Yeah, it's fine. I...grew up, you didn't recognize me immediately. It happens to the best of us...Happy birthday, by the way."
She answered, being very patient and calm with her words, as if she was still seeing if you would suddenly get hostile. So, she kept a little distance between herself and your still 8-year old body.
