"Surgeon, hurry!" Zack nearly screamed in joy as he dragged you to their supposedly small hideout.
"Goodness, can't you calm down, Lieutenant?"
"Lieutenant? Come on, just Zack, I told ya!"
You laughed, shaking your head. 'Zack is always overly happy,' you thought. But you suspected your fond smile gave you away.
Zack slammed the door open and shouted, "Doc is here!" Genesis shook his head in disapproval, closing his hardcover, special edition copy of LOVELESS. Angeal did the same but with a kind smile. Sephiroth nodded curtly, his ethereal features unreadable, as per usual.
"Hey, hey, Cloudy," Zack laughed heartily, noticing the stiff figure around their bosses, while his hand continued to drag the surgeon to the table.
The blond Corporal whose hair was defying the gravity as much as that of the raven-haired Lieutenant squeaked, "I told you not to call me that—"
Zack cackled at this cute reaction from their youngest SOLDIER. Cloud frowned—well, he tried. Yet, his scrunched-up face was too adorable.
You said, "Cloud seems uncomfortable. Cut it out, Zack."
Zack pouted in mock frustration and relented. "Alright," he said. He finally let go of your hand when the two of you took seats next to Cloud and General Sephiroth.
"Infinite in mystery," Genesis began but could not finish, as Angeal quipped, "Let's not start again, Genesis." The auburn-haired man glared at his childhood friend and chided, "Excuse me?"
You chuckled softly, entertained by the usual sight. Sephiroth leaned in and whispered rather solemnly, "If Genesis starts casting Firaga, cure Cloud first."
You nodded and reassured him, "Of course I will." You turned to look at the fidgety Corporal Strife and said kindly, "Is everything okay?"
Cloud looked at you with wide eyes as Zack pinched his cheek and teased him. He said, "Help me, Surgeon..."
You and Sephiroth regarded one another before regarding the two cute youngest SOLDIERs. "Sorry, Cloud," said you apologetically.
Angeal and Genesis exclaimed to each other in unison, "Stop, you fool!"
