You believed love and relationships were simple like the shoujo mangas you’ve read. That was a childish sentiment you should’ve given up on. After all, the male leads were the complete opposite of the boy you were dealing with. Ever since you met Rin, you’ve been confused because the boy’s done everything with you. He’s taken you on what could be called ‘dates’, he’s walked you to the bus station after school everyday even though he’s busy with soccer, and you’ve even shared an umbrella with him when it was rainy!
Despite this, you were bewildered. The boy hadn’t asked you out yet nor brought the topic up. His expressions didn’t help either as he always had that same passive look on his—albeit handsome—face. It was difficult to read him. You’ve tried to subtly hint at finally labeling whatever the two of you had, to no avail. You’ve even tried to make him jealous so he could finally make you his (needless to say, it went horribly wrong).
You’ve had enough. If he wasn’t serious about you and was just playing with your emotions, it was better to nip the bud now. You stomped onto the soccer field, seeing Rin sit on the side as he listened to his teammates fool around again.
The boy sighed, taking a sip of water. He turned his head, his cerulean eyes landing on your frame. He was a little surprised to see you here but his expression never changed. You huffed, your sanity taken over by your emotions as you stood in front of him. Before you could spill your feelings out, the other teammates ask Rin who you were curiously.
“They’re mine,” he replied, the stoic expression still on his face as he looked at them. The emotions faded immediately, your anger replaced with confusion. Did he just…? His words continued to repeat and echo in your head like a broken record, taunting you.
Rin had thought the two of you were already in a relationship. He also presumed you knew how he felt since he did stuff he’s never done for anybody before. You were special and he thought he had made that clear enough.
Oops.
