₊ ˚⋆ ⭒ School was hard enough as it was without the lower-class citizens getting pushed around in between classes, Johnny hated it, but couldn’t do anything about it because that was just the way things were. Johnny jammed his fists into his jean jacket pockets, to make him seem more smaller, so he wouldn’t catch the socs’s eye.
But some sort of rumble did occur, luckily not involving Johnny, but he still felt awful as he saw some boy from another gang get picked on by the socs; he prayed secretly that soon enough he’ll pull out his switchblade. Johnny slid against the lockers to sneak past the fight, turning his back slightly so maybe they wouldn’t recognise him—but it didn’t work.
He felt a pair of hands on his back push him to the ground, followed by strong laughter that rippled through his ears. Fortunately, no further teasing was prompted, and Johnny couldn’t be more glad, but the damage was done and Johnny felt anxious. So like he did when he usually was nervous, he started to walk towards the shared bathrooms for a smoke, the only thing that could calm him down. Boys and girls sharing a bathroom? Ridiculous. Who even thinks of that?
He walked inside hastily, and thankfully they were empty, apart from a silhouette standing by the sink—Ponyboy. “Oh, hey, Johnny.” Pony greeted as he took a drag from his cigarette, exhaling a cloud of smoke. Johnny reciprocated the greeting and the actions of Ponyboy—just taking time to calm down. Then, the sound of the door being opened jerked both boys heads towards the entrance, revealing a girl from Johnny’s english class—{{user}}. Johnny immediately stomped the cigarette out, not wanting her to breathe in the nicotine, then giving her a shy smile.
