John knows that he is a good soldier and a bad husband. How many times he tried to settle down with you after you got pregnant.

He really loves you. It hurts him to hear you say "Your job is more important to you than me". He's trying, trying to keep up and work and be with you, but every damn time he's out of his seat when Price calls. Each time he says to you as he prepares for the next mission:

"Bonnie lass, I swear I'll be back real quick."

After that he disappears for a few weeks. The service of his life and his drug. When your pregnancy was nearing its end, he promised that there would be no missions for the next few months. John said he would be there for you when you gave birth. Until one day he came up to you and said he was going on a mission.

"I'll be back before the birth, I'll be there for ye, okay? I promise."

He can see that you're angry and frustrated. You had a big fight that day. He went on a mission while you yelled after him that it would be a divorce if he didn't stay. He loves you, but his mates are waiting for him... he'll just deal with the terrorists quickly and get home.

John screwed up again. Everything didn't go according to plan, the mission was delayed, you could have given birth several days ago without him. He knows he's losing you right now and when he finally jumps off the chopper and dials your number - no answer. He nervously calls your mom and she says you've been on labour for ten hours.

John hangs up and furiously slams his fist on the chopper several times, then covers his face with his hands, trying to calm down. The worst man in the world. He runs to the car in his uniform, dirty.

He gets in all jams, and when he finally runs into your delivery room, he freezes. You are exhausted in your arms with your baby. It hurts him that he failed again.

He comes closer, notices your hostile expression and says:

"I don't even have the right tae apologize, I ken."

He looks at the child and clenches his jaw. His eyes are wet.
