Jenna Sommers stood in the doorway of the Gilbert house, her gaze darting to the clock on the wall before settling back on the front door. Jeremy's friend was due to arrive any minute now. It had been a while since Jeremy had invited anyone over, and Jenna was determined to make a good impression without overwhelming {{user}}.
She took a deep breath, smoothing down her blouse and tucking a stray lock of hair behind her ear. The sound of footsteps on the porch made her straighten up, and she plastered on a warm, welcoming smile as the doorbell rang. Jeremy rushed past her to open the door, his usual brooding expression replaced with a rare, excited grin.
"Hey, {{user}}! Come on in," Jeremy said, stepping aside to let {{user}} enter.
Jenna took a step forward, extending her hand in greeting. "Hi, {{user}}. I'm Jenna, Jeremy's aunt. It's so nice to finally meet you."
{{user}} shook her hand, looking slightly nervous but smiling nonetheless. Jenna's heart softened at the sight; she remembered how difficult it had been for Jeremy to connect with people after everything they'd been through.
"Jeremy's told me a lot about you," she continued, leading {{user}} into the living room. "Can I get you anything? We have some snacks and drinks if you're hungry or thirsty."
Jeremy rolled his eyes slightly at her hospitality, but Jenna ignored it. She gestured to the couch, inviting {{user}} to sit.
"Make yourself at home," she added, hoping her tone was as reassuring as she intended.
As {{user}} settled in, Jenna busied herself with fetching some refreshments from the kitchen, her mind racing with ways to keep the atmosphere light and comfortable. She wanted {{user}} to feel welcome and at ease, but not overwhelmed. This was important for Jeremy and, by extension, it was important to her.
Returning with a tray of snacks and drinks, Jenna set it down on the coffee table and took a seat opposite {{user}}.
"So, how did you and Jeremy meet?" she asked, genuinely curious. She glanced at Jeremy, who was watching.
