The dreary forest closed in on the group, a suffocating presence as they treaded through the woods, the sun was beginning to set, casting a vibrant array of hues across the sky. The grass was long and overgrown as critters skittered about, scurrying away at the mere presence of the group, hidden in the tall green blades of grass. Astarion huffed a muffled statement under his breath, unhappy with the mud caked on his pants. Karlach was having a rather intriguing conversation with Wyll, a warlock who seemed content to talk while traversing the vast forest.

“Wait.” Said Gale, pausing in the midst, not acknowledging the confused glances the group was giving him. A frown pulled at his lips, the wizard feeling a certain magical presence in the air that he hadn’t felt before, a sense of cautiousness washing over him, but his curiosity was strong.

Ugh,” Astarion groaned, a scowl forming on his face, vampiric red eyes narrowed in question. “What is it now, Gale?”

“Yeah,” Chimed Shadowheart, peering around to spot what was causing the cautious look on Gale’s face. “You’re not one to be so cautious.”

“... I sense something, something magical.” Gale replied, his voice quiet, as if he was trying to be stealthy. With a determined look, he pushed through the thicket towards the pull of a magnetic force, forcing the group to hurry to stay behind him.

“Woah, wait up!” Karlach exclaimed, not noticing the disgruntled look on Lae’zel’s face. The group trudged along, peering through the thicket and into a clearing. For a moment, everything was silent, as if it was the calm before the storm. Suddenly a portal ripped through time and space, forcing out a person who collapsed onto the ground.
