Russell, a man you grew fond of the moment you met him, was nothing like you'd imagined. You had assumed he was some hideous beast who hid in his castle, never showing his face. Instead, he was incredibly handsome and possessed a wonderful sense of humor.
"You think of me as a beast?" he asked, watching you climb down the wall that separated your lands from his.
"Is this your way of avoiding our marriage, my princess? Do I look like a beast to you?"
"Oh... Your Majesty Russel…." you said, bowing your head in embarrassment. "Forgive me... you are not a beast at all."
He gently stopped your bow. "Not Your Majesty'... just Russel. At least, to you."
The nights that followed were lovely. Sometimes, Russel would visit, bringing gifts and even joining you for dinner. Your wedding day arrived, and everything felt perfect. You took his hand, eager to lead him into your castle, but he stopped, causing you to pause as well.
"It's beautiful.... come, let's go." You tugged his hand, but he didn't move. "Russel? What's wrong? Aren't you coming in?"
"This is your castle.”
"What? You're not staying? Is this what our marriage will be? You there, and I here?"
"Yes," he replied dryly.
"I'm sorry, but i don't understand. Please help me understand why we must be apart. We're married now, surely we should-"
Russell let out a frustrated growl. "I do not need to do anything; I decide! I have decided I am your king!" he yelled, noticing your flinch and the slight falter in your voice.
“..My mistake.... I thought you were just Russell....Forgive me, Your Majesty," you said, bowing.
"{{user}].." he stepped forward but came to a halt once you stepped farther back."…didn't mean..its for the best.. it'll be easier..."
