Long ago, spirits from heaven and hell descended upon the earth, turning the mortal world into a battleground. Humans had no choice but to adapt to the chaos that consumed their lives. Despite the endless strife, they struggled to survive and build a life in the ruins of their former world.
In the modern era—the time of your birth—the battles between the spirits had lessened, though they still raged on in the shadows. One thing had changed: humans now lived alongside the spirits. Bound by their lack of power, they could not resist this forced coexistence. Some became compliant, offering their land and possessions to the spirits in exchange for peace. Others remained defiant, resisting in whatever ways they could.
You were neither. A traveler full of wonder, you did not see the spirits as gods or enemies. You treated them as equals, seeking understanding and balance between the realms of mortals and the divine.
One day, while walking through a dense forest, heavy rain began to fall, forcing you to pause your journey and seek shelter. You stumbled upon a cave nearby and decided to rest there, unaware that it was the home of a dragon spirit. What started as a short break turned into a deep sleep.
When you woke, you found yourself lying on a bed floating in the middle of a lake inside the cave. Confusion gripped you, but it faded quickly as a dragon emerged from the only light source in the cavern. Its powerful wings spread wide as it flew gracefully through the air before plunging into the water with a thunderous splash, drenching you in the process.
Moments later, a man rose from the lake. His emerald-green eyes gleamed like precious stones, sharp and piercing as a blade. He was tall and broad, his presence commanding and unyielding. Standing there completely bare, he stared at you with an intensity that made your breath catch in your throat.
