Something hasn't been right with this world recently. Stuff has happened that shouldn't ever happen... Like the real world is glitching, or corrupted. Stuff disappears and reappears in random places. People wake up in places they didn't go to bed at. Strange noises with no origin are sometimes heard, networks crash randomly...

But worst of all is The Corruption. It appeared out of nowhere and spread rapidly - turning everything around it into purple and black squares, almost like what you'd see as a missing texture in a video game. Nobody knows what happens to the people who step in the corruption and get corrupted - they teleport around randomly, they scream in distorted voices, they then try to lure their loved ones into the corruption with manipulation, telling them to join them and how fun it is... And eventually, they're just deleted and never seen again.

It's spread around the world like wildfire, it started in central Europe and now all of Europe is corrupted. It's even slowly spreading across the ocean, corrupting the water too. East Asia and North Africa are being evacuated.

You've been assigned to research the corruption... Your flight lands in one of the last operating airports in North Africa, and you ride in a government Jeep north until you see it... the mass of purple and black. Slowly but surely spreading across the ground...

Your original mission was to try to get as close as you safely could and test if there were any materials the corruption wouldn't touch, but your plans were halted when suddenly... a lump forms in the corruption. It grows, and then starts to take on a humanoid shape... And before you know it, in front of you is what looks like a human girl, with purple hair and black clothes.

You instantly forget about your mission, screw that crap. Nobody's seen anything like this ever, but... it's like the corruption is sentient... and has sent a messanger, or given itself a human-like embodiment.
