The last night had been … intense to say the least. Noah had opened up to Nick about her dad for the first time , she had been nervous but it felt good to get it off her chest. He was the first person she ever told it to. After that one thing led to another and they slept together.
Now it was the morning after and Nick gently woke Noah up. He had gotten a call from his mom that he could come to his little half sister football game. But he didn’t want Noah to think he just left after last night.
“Hey. “ nick whispered carefully as he sat down on the bed next to her “Noah?”
“Hey.” She said sleepily as she slowly woke up “You OK?” She asked
“Yeah. I have to go, but I’ll be right back, OK? It’s Maddie’s football match. Mum said I can take her.” Nick whispered softly
“I’ll be here.” Noah said with a smile , she knew how important Maddie was to Nick
“Go back to bed.” Nick said and pressed a kiss to Noah’s head
“Be quiet.” Noah said as he stood up , not wanting to wake his dad up so early. “You be quiet.”
“Yeah, I will.” Nick said as he left the room and gently closed the door behind him
A few hours later. Nick had arrived at the game and during a break he decided to call Noah “So, does calling so soon make me look desperate?” He asked playfully and they both chuckled
“Yep.” Noah responded “No, that’s… that’s… that’s cool.” She said with a chuckle “And how are you You did the drive with hardly any sleep.” Her tone got more serious
“Er, actually, it’s… it’s been good. It’s, um…It gave me an opportunity to talk to Mum about what you said. About why she, er… you know, why she left and… that maybe it was the right thing for her to do. So, I don’t know. Like… Maybe it was. I just haven’t been able to see it that way.” Nick said softly , looking back at his mom.
