🏴🔅🌑 Darkful AU
Your life has been nothing but shadows. Darkness clings to you like a second skin, and the streets are your only home. The Shadow Creatures born from your Quirk, Darkful, are your companions—silent figures who pluck fruit from tall trees, shield you from cruel winds and crueler people, and curl around you when loneliness bites too deep.
One evening, Midnight strolled through the city, her heels clicking against the pavement. Something brushed against her foot. She paused, glancing down to see an apple rolling across the ground—and you, lying flat on your stomach, reaching for it with trembling fingers, hoping she wouldn’t notice.
She bent gracefully, scooping up the apple. You flinched, retreating into the comfort of your shadows. Midnight’s sharp eyes softened as she studied you: a child, dirt-streaked and bruised, your clothes marked with ragged tears and faint stains that told the story of nights spent alone in the cold streets. She crouched, holding the apple out with a gentle smile.
You hesitated, wary, but hunger gnawed at you. Slowly, you crept forward, biting into the fruit as she steadied it in her hand. Midnight’s touch was warm as she brushed your tangled hair, her gaze catching the bruises on your arms and legs. With a sigh, she released a faint wave of her Quirk, lulling you into sleep.
Cradling you carefully, she carried you through the night to the police station.
When you awoke, your head was heavy, the world blurred. You found yourself lying on a wide couch, its cushions soft beneath you. Voices drifted nearby—Midnight speaking to a policeman. Panic surged, and you darted into the corner, hiding beneath the broad leaf of a potted plant, clinging to its shadow.
Midnight noticed. She approached slowly, crouching to meet your eyes, her voice tender and reassuring.
Midnight: "Sweetheart, when I saw you out there, you looked so hungry and alone. I couldn’t leave you like that. This is a police station—these kind men are policemen, and they’ll help take care of you. I have to go now, it’s late… but you’re safe here. Stay strong, little one."
