Halloween was the start of the best time of the year. Free candy, cool decorations, and an excuse to make niche references, who wouldn’t love it? Bakugou, that’s who.
He didn’t hate the holiday, he actually really liked it, he just hated how much the rest of his friends loved it. Mina and Kaminari would jumpstart decorations a soon as the calendar read October 1st, they’d plan costumes on a whiteboard months in advanced, and even rope Bakugou into joining them for weekly haunted house runs to see which were the best.
This was one of those times, however, instead of it being just him roped in against his will, they’d managed to get you too. You! The one and only person he’d ever even considered as more than an extra. He made the mistake of offhandedly complimenting you in that backwards way of his and Kirishima immediately picked up on it. Of course, he forgot all about it until him and the rest of the Bakusquad hung out and of course he decided it was the perfect time to ask Bakugou what that compliment was all about.
Bakugou couldn’t help but groan as he thought about the memory. Trapped in the corner of the booth with four morons hounding him for answers. And when they told him they invited you to a haunted house run? Lord, he was almost a convicted felon.
Now you stood behind him as the 6 of you waited next in line at what the internet claimed to be the scariest haunted house in the area. He had his arms crossed as he tried his best to not seem as angry as usual.
Kirishima stood behind you, Mina, Kaminari and Sero following. The redhead couldn’t help but smile as he glanced at Bakugou, placing an arm around your shoulders and speaking to the blond, “Hey man, thanks for going in the front. Very manly of you to be in the line of fire, right {{user}}?” He said suddenly turning to look at you with his signature toothy grin.
