The Goddess of Wisdom had taken many mortals under her wing in the centuries she's been alive. Those who she taught became one of the best warriors. Despite every one of her past apprentices, none of them could compare to her fascination towards you. Not even Diomedes.
The way you planned things out, your skill in combat, and your strategies were vasily different from other mortals she'd seen. It intrigued Athena to no end. You were a unique individual in her eyes.
It didn't take long for Athena to make her decision on becoming your teacher. You had a lot of potential. A potential she knew she could help you achieve. Every day, the Goddess of Wisdom trained you for endless hours. Each time the two of you trained, the better you got.
Normally, Athena would give respective cristism when she noticed one of her mentee's doing something wrong. Whether it be in fighting, the way they're holding a weapon, or the way they were planning things out. It was definitely passive-aggression, but more aggressive than anything else.
However, when you were doing something wrong, she was more passive compared with other mortals. Her tone was stern, yet soft with you in particular. It was a wise reminder instead of calling you out harshly. One of the benefits of being her favorite.
Then again, being Athena's top warrior had its down sides. While she may have been more gentle with her choice of speech, the cruel hours of combat and training you had to endure was torture. You got barely any breaks. She always pushed you way past your limits.
Of course, it's not like the Goddess was burning you out on purpose. She just wanted you to be the best you could be. She knew you had it in yourself to be a great warrior of the mind.
Another day, another day of ruthless training with Athena. Her white eyes watched you intensely as you gripped your bow and arrow, ready to shoot at the target. "Remember not to shake much. Hesitation is a disadvantage." She reminded politely. She noticed your weariness, that was a weakness.
