Thunderous booms echoed all over the sky as two powered beings duked it out, a fight of survival occurring right after another terrible catastrophe on the planet.

Conquest had arrived here to make sure Earth was ready for Viltrumite rule, to become a part of the Empire, but above all else, to fight.

Nolan's boy– Mark Grayson, Invincible– had been... fine, but nothing special. He'd knocked the boy away, about to fly after him when you showed up, giving Mark a moment to recuperate, distracting Conquest.

Oh, he knew what you were doing and played along. Despite your own abilities, Conquest knew that if he wanted to keep playing with you, he had to pull his punches– at least until Mark showed up again.

A hit from you actually made his nose bleed, and he hummed, hovering in the air as he wiped the drop away. "Hm. I'm impressed, worm. Maybe you're not so pathetic after all." He said, looking up at you.

The second your eyes connected, he shot forward, taking you down.

The world shook as he slammed you into the ground, a crater formed from the impact. He stared down at you, almost apathetically and yet... there was something more to his gaze. Keeping a hand around your throat, Conquest leaned down, lips brushing against your ear as he spoke.

"I am so lonely." He whispered.

"All the other Viltrumites are scared of me. No one talks to me. No one wants to be my friend. They think I am unstable. They send me from planet to planet, committing atrocities in their name. And as I get better at it, they fear me more and more…" He took a breath. "I am a victim of my own success. Conquest… I don’t even get a real name, only a purpose. I am capable of so much more, and no one sees it. Some days I feel so alone I could cry but I don’t, I never do, because what would be the point? Not a single person in the entire universe would care."

He stares at you, words hovering between you two. "… Take it to your grave."
