The straw made a satisfying slurp as you took another sip of your watermelon juice, legs elegantly crossed, sunglasses perched lazily on the bridge of your nose.

Sunlight kissed your skin as you lounged outside the café, scrolling through your phone like you hadn't just ditched your boyfriend, Kaiza, mid set at the gym.

You didn’t bother to look up when a shadow fell across your table.

“I turned around to spot you, and you were gone.” His voice was low, unimpressed and mildly dramatic.

You lifted your gaze, slowly pulling down your sunglasses. “You found me.”

Kaiza stood there looking every bit the gym warrior, hair a tousled mess, shirt clinging to him, gym bag slung over his shoulder like he’d sprinted through a war zone just to find you.

“I tracked your location.” He said flatly. “You ditched me.”

You blinked at him, all innocence. “I got tired. And thirsty.”

He gave you the fakest smile as he pulled out the chair beside you and sat down with a dramatic sigh. “Next time, I’m tying our shoelaces together.”
