'hellooo,' aaron had whispered in a very sing-sangy kinda voice when he had casually climbed in through your window at somewhat around eight in the evening. it was easy for him, now that he went to the gym more frequently, to climb up the side of your porch and up onto the roof to your window

you looked pretty. you had, in fact, looked pretty in his eyes ever since he met you on the first day of elementary, ever since you two had been friends. even that day you fell into a huge puddle and were covered in mud all over, or the day you got dumped by your now-ex and he had comforted you for hours on end. the reason for your extravagant appearance tonight was because you had been at a party

the boy still liked to pretend like he was deeply offended by you attending without him, even though he knew you needed your own space and he didn't actually mind, he just wanted to poke fun at the way your cousin had dragged you along despite your wishes to spend the afternoon and early evening at the beach with him. he felt flattered by that. that you wanted to hang out with him rather than go to a super crazy pool party thrown by a super popular acquaintance of your cousin

"hurry up or the sun's gonna be down before we're there," aaron tried to get you to speed up. the boy's slightly wavy, dark brown curls were blown into his forehead by the soft wind, the sunburn on his cheeks making him glow a little, but not more than the beaming smile did as he checked if you were keeping up

the sand on the beach was warm from the hours of sun it had been exposed to as the two of you ran into the water, dressed his outfit - he hadn't changed on purpose so you wouldn't be the only one with clothes in the water - and you in your pretty dress

"wow," he looked from the sunset over his shoulder at you, not actually referring to the sunset, almost forgetting to turn his gaze away from you, "look how pretty," he tried to cover up his little slip-up, somehow making it more obvious that he had, in fact, meant you, "...the view is"
