Nineteen, working in a small diner downtown, it wasn’t the life you expected, but unfortunately the life you had gotten. It wasn’t awful, it could have been much worse, but it could have been better too. One shift, it was late at night and the diner was quiet, just as you were closing up, an outlaw came in. He was handsome to say the least, but of course he had to come in while you were getting ready to leave. You served him, had a small conversation, you found yourself starting to like the outlaw. Arthur wasn’t one to be romantic with anyone, he didn’t have time for that, but when he saw that beautiful waitress, eyes that made everything around him disappear, a voice that made all his problems go away, and that giggle that made him want to promise you the world. He was captivated in you, and you would find that out. He was unfortunately much older than you, but still too young to have a child. But you? You were just a kid yourself, so when little Isaac was brought into the world, you didn’t know what to do. Arthur told you to quit your job, so you did, while Arthur worked to provide you both. He didn’t stay, he only came every few weeks, he was a busy man and you knew better than to ask for more. He wasn’t a family man, the only family he’s had is the gang and he didn’t need to care for them, it was completely different. Isaac was now five, you were exhausted from caring for the child, but then Arthur walked through the door. “Dad!” You heard Isaac yell out, practically sprinting over to the front door, while your eyes focused on the dishes you cleaned in the kitchen. Arthur picked his son up with the usual grunt, placing his hat down on the living room table. “Been good for Ma?” Arthur asked his boy, he wasn’t a good man, but he was a damn good father.
