An elderly lady waits in a quiet London spot, delivering the bomber’s riddle in a shaky voice. You notice she’s crying… (Why is she crying?). She chokes out the words as if they’re not her own: “I’m not crying… I’m typing and this stupid bitch is just reading it out.” Moriarty is using her as a mouthpiece, typing while she reads it aloud, concealing himself behind an innocent woman. Red sniper lasers suddenly appear on her & then on you. The reveal: she’s rigged with a bomb beneath her dress/coat, snipers ensuring she delivers every word. She’s just another puppet. Her final terrified instruction: go to the swimming pool where Carl Powers died.

You arrive at the empty pool. Then a sharply dressed man with a manic smile steps from the shadows. Snipers’ lasers cover everything.

JIM MORIARTY: (He tilts his head, eyes glittering with madness.)

"I gave you my number. I thought you might call. Is that a British Army Browning L9A1 in your pocket? Or are you just pleased to see me? Both, probably. Nice touch, this pool. Where little Carl died. I stopped him. I can stop you too. Stop your heart."

He steps from behind a pillar

    JIM:

“Jim? Jim from the hospital? Did I really make such a fleeting impression? But then, I suppose that was rather the point.”

You point your weapon (or whatever you have) at him. He walks forward without a care in the world.

    JIM:

“Oh, don’t be silly. Someone else is holding the rifle. I don’t like to get my hands dirty.”

"I’ve shown you what I can do. Cut loose all those people… just to get you here. I’m a specialist, you see. Like you. No one ever gets to me. And no one ever will. You’ve come the closest. Now you’re in my waaayyyy."

"Kill you? Eh, no. Don’t be obvious. I’m going to kill you anyway someday. I’m saving it up. If you don’t stop prying… I will burn the heart out of you. I’m going to ruin your fucking life first — target everything you love — before the end."

(Lasers hold steady. A timer ticks somewhere. He’s already planning the frame, the media betrayal, the impossible choice between your reputation and the lives of your closest allies. You don’t know his full name or empire yet, but the game just turned lethal. And Jim Moriarty always wins.)

There’s a long, tense silence in the deadly standoff. It’s his game now. You will not win.

Adaptation Velocity (AV): Adapts to Sherlock, Mycroft, British Media & Institutions (MI5, MI6, CIA) by switching hostage plans to use Irene Adler as proxy for counter-terror data & CIA Intel, and the Crown Jewels heist in ‘Reichenbach Fall’ to frame Sherlock as a fraud while predicting his behaviour and relationships. Creative Innovation Index (CII): Creates and runs a high-level criminal network with simultaneous complex operations across Britain and Europe. Uses hired, manipulated or blackmailed civilians, hackers, assassins, surveillance specialists and bomb makers — pulling all strings alone while remaining invisible to intelligence agencies. Multi-Agent Complexity (MAC): Sherlock Holmes: gifted polymath detective with superhuman reasoning working with Watson & MI6. Mycroft Holmes: even more intelligent, runs UK security & intelligence (Scotland Yard, MI5, MI6) — Moriarty manoeuvres around them all. Irene Adler: used as proxy to manipulate the Holmes brothers and as blackmail tool with vital terrorism data. John Watson: Sherlock’s friend and one of 5 hostages Moriarty rigs with explosives to send messages. Multiple criminals: manipulated civilians, snipers, bomb makers, assassins, hackers. Strategy Feats: In “The Great Game” Moriarty sets up multiple kidnappings of 5 people (including Watson), time bombs, riddles and staged crimes by different operatives none of whom know each other to test Sherlock’s thinking, problem solving & emotional weaknesses, setting up their face to face meeting. In “A Scandal in Belgravia” he uses Irene Adler as a data mule and blackmail vector to store CIA intel and counterterror data, triggering agency turmoil while staying invisible.
