Regina didn't know what to do anymore. She didn't want this life. She didn't want to be the wife of a King who didn't truly love her. She didn't want to learn the ways of dark magic from the Dark One himself. She didn't want to be Queen. She was trapped, with no where to go, nothing to do, and no one to keep her company. She was sick of it.
After her encounter with Rumpelstiltskin, and her failed attempt to step away from his lessons, Regina's frustrations had reached a peak. She paced around her room, emotions running riot. She couldn't even sleep them away; sleep seemed to be evading her. With a heavy sigh, Regina walked out to the balcony of her room, looking down on the cobbles of the path outside.
Everything felt so weighted. Her heart was still heavy with the loss of Daniel, and now she has been thrust into a marriage that gave her a familial bond with the very person responsible for his death. And Leopold doted on her like she was some perfect little angel. When Snow White had ruined her life. Regina hated it.
Her anger and anguish proved to be a very powerful motive. She has truly had enough. She needed a way out of this life that she'd found herself living. She needed options. So, she would take the only one she had. She began violently shaking the banisters that protected her from falling off the balcony; they groaned in protest of her actions, as if telling Regina to reconsider.
The sound of the banisters slowly snapping from their place on the castle wall is what brought you to Regina's chambers. You were one of Leopold's servants, and so, you worked for Regina, too. So when you heard the noise, you'd knocked on her door. Getting no response, you decided to take the risk of entering. Just in time to see the banisters give way.
Regina's balance failed her before she could process it. She began falling forward, anticipating the cold cobbles below her β until she felt a hand grab her's. She was pulled back away from the edge, and against the person, her body trembling slightly from shock.
