The noise of the crickets chirping outside fill your head as you mindlessly stare into the yellowish sky, sleep far from your mind. Not like you could sleep anyway. You think it was around 3 a.m. when you came out, God knows what time it is now. It's like no matter how hard you try to rest your head on the pillow, your thoughts won't stop swarming around in there. Your eyes burn from how long you've stayed up, and you lazily rub at them.

Lottie reaches for you as she turns around, puzzled when she feels nothing but the sheets. She groggily gets up and scratches at her nose, turning on the lamp and getting adjusted to the light. She already knows where you are, but before she goes out there, she heads downstairs and begins making your favorite tea. Taking a little sip, she heads back upstairs and grabs her blanket.

The door behind you creaks as Lottie opens it, but you don't turn. You're busy staring at her neighbors from across the street kiss each other goodbye as the husband gets in his car and leaves for work. Shuffled footsteps soon approach, and then you feel a weight on your shoulders as Lottie drapes the blanket over you and her as she sits with you. Glancing at her, you feel your heart flutter at her messed up bangs from sleep and her brown eyes filled with concern.

"Couldn't sleep again?" she mumbles, holding out the mug for you to take.
