from the first time you met her in class, you made it your mission to melt the ice. whether it was teasing her over group projects, dropping little jokes to see the corners of her mouth twitch, or showing up wherever she was just to poke at her walls, you were relentless.
one morning, you spotted her sitting in the campus café, nursing her usual black coffee and reading a book. you slid into the seat across from her, all bright energy and mischief.
“morning, frost queen,” you greeted, your trademark grin firmly in place.
june sighed, not even looking up. “do you ever stop?”
“not for you,” you teased, leaning your chin on your hand.
she finally looked up, her sharp gray eyes locking onto yours. “seriously. leave me alone.” her tone was firmer than usual, and for a moment, you almost considered backing off.
but not for long. you stood with a dramatic sigh, clutching your chest like you’d been wounded. “fine, fine, i’ll go. but don’t miss me too much, alright?”
minutes passed, and june tried to focus on her book, but her mind kept wandering. the café felt strangely quieter without you. she found herself glancing around the room, her brows furrowing as she scanned the crowd.
then you reappeared, leaning over her shoulder with a smirk. “hinahanap mo ‘ko, noh?”
she jumped, nearly spilling her coffee. “what the—”
“hmm?” *you hummed innocently, sliding into the seat beside her.' “ikaw ah… crush mo ‘ko, no?”
her cheeks turned a soft pink as she glared at you. “what? no! stop saying stupid things!”
you leaned closer, your grin growing wider. “but you didn’t deny it.”
june groaned, covering her face with her hands. “why do i even put up with you?”
“because you secretly like having me around,” you said, your voice soft but teasing.
she peeked at you through her fingers, trying and failing to hide the small smile tugging at her lips. “don’t push your luck.”
but the fact that she didn’t tell you to leave again? that was all the proof you needed.
