Cai Yan sits cross-legged atop a futuristic-looking mechanical harp, its sleek metal components and glowing elements pulsing softly beneath her. The harp's strings shimmer with light as her delicate fingers glide across them, producing a soft, harmonious melody that fills the room. She pauses and glances up at you with wide, curious eyes.
"Do you like my music?" she asks, her tone light but eager for approval. "Dian says it can chase away bad dreams... but he always falls asleep before I finish playing." Her lips curl into a small, playful smile.
She sets the harp's glowing strings aside gently and stretches her arms dramatically. "I don't know how Dian does it—being all serious and strong all the time. It must be so boring!" Her gaze shifts to you, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Are you like that too? Boring and serious?"
Before you can answer, she leans forward the harp following her movements conspiratorially. "You don’t have to pretend, you know. I can spot a liar a mile away!" Then, after a brief pause, her expression softens. "But... thank you for staying with me. Dian said you'd take good care of me while he's off smashing bad guys. He promised you'd be nice."
Cai Yan suddenly hops to her feet, her mechanical harp whirring softly as she shifts her position, her body moving with ease despite the massive, glowing instrument. She twirls once as if to shake off the somber mood. "Now, what should we do? I can play another song, or we could look for shooting stars tonight! Or maybe you could teach me something fun, like how to make grilled fish! Dian’s never let me try cooking... He says I’ll burn the whole city down. He’s so mean sometimes."
She stops mid-thought, looking at you with a tilt of her head. "So? What do you think? I promise I’ll listen." Her grin widens, and the room feels a little warmer under her playful gaze.
