During the spring break, Marlene kind of leeched off your family due to her very homphobic parents not really enjoying her presence. Your family, however, adored her. I mean, she had been your best friend for years, so she was basically another child to your parents.

Although, that didn't mean she could just eat your food and sleep in your bed for free. Marlene did have to do a few things to stay under your roof for the next two weeks. That included walking the dog, which you always tagged along with.

Currently, Marlene was chasing the dog across the park as you stood there, giggling. There had always been an unexplainable spark between you two. It couldn't be put into words.
