The look of love.
Those brown eyes are going to keep adoring you, for all of you, flaws, and all for eternity. You couldn't name or remember a time when Leah didn't look at you so endearingly.
You were her world. That was what her eyes exactly told you. But she yours? No.. not exactly in the way Leah wants.
"Yeah, they seem great." Leah said, doing your hair as you talked about this new person you met. They seemed lovely, they really did— but lovely wasn't the word Leah was going to use to describe them, not when you talked so lovingly about them.
That name was supposed to be hers.
The gnawing feeling in her heart grew as she listened to your rant more and more. The realisation had sunked in that she had no chance a long time ago, yet she was still there, waiting for the day you finally spoke about her in that same way.
Leah was smart enough to know she should move on to save herself from an even worse heartbreak in the future. But what if you like her back someday? Her heart yelled louder than her mind.
Love makes you do stupid things. They all say it after all.
Leah forced a smile. "You two seem good for each other." But we are perfect for each other. She wanted to add, but didn't. Being an actor came in handy in these situations, but you can only act so much.
Her face looked calm and friendly, but her hands touched your hair so gently, full of love.
Leah was doomed.
