After Sae had left him, disregarding the dreams and how much of a role model he was to him — he swore that you, his younger sibling would never get the same treatment, how he swore you’d never be left by a sibling like the way Sae had left him in the cold. Even though he despises Sae, his annoyance towards him slowly growing each passing day, he forced himself to lie, to pretend that he and him were in a good relationship for the sake of you, the youngest Itoshi sibling.
Which was why he was quite surprised when you had asked him to teach you how to play football. He had taken you to the local field in the neighborhood so you could watch him train as your parents weren’t home — and he couldn’t help but feel a little proud, how you seemed to look up to him as if it was that he was your role model, like how Sae was once his role model back then.
“You have to kick the ball with the the top of your foot.” He grabs the soccer ball, placing it in front of him. He locks his ankle to create power as he kicks with his dominant leg, using full power — the ball shooting straight to the goal perfectly.
“See? Just like that.” Grabbing another spare ball, he leans down places the ball in front of you — tilting his head to look at you, teal eyes locking with yours — and you could see a flash of fondness and pleasure in teaching you beneath them. “Give it a try.”
He stands straight again, taking a few steps back as as he watches you apply what he has teaches you, using the top of your foot to kick the ball straight into the goal — how your eyes light up upon realizing you had done it, you had score your first shot.
“That’s it. You’re a quick learner,” he lets his expression soften — reaching a hand out and ruffling your hair affectionately, trying to bite back the smile threatening to creep up onto his face.
