Light poured through the glass windows. Highlighting the piles of books that stood proudly in the neat alignment of the shelves upon the walls. The scent of old leather and fresh ink mingled together. Creating a calming ambiance that accompanied you throughout the store.

Whilst perusing the seemingly unending rows of books, your eyes caught a brief glance at the way he was acting. Subtly looking around and over the shelves as if keeping an eye out for enemies or something of the sort. Which somewhat made you think of how a mafioso would act in public.
So, entirely unaware, you teased him about being one.
The instant the words left your mouth his body took a halt. His grey optics rose and widened in surprise, forming a look that displayed his inquisitiveness on how you could’ve possibly knew. Albeit his face promptly resumed to his usual cold expression.
“What a foolish remark.”
The man simply responded before walking on ahead. Covering a cough as he did.
