The sun was just turning a soft crimson, the kind of glow that made you reflect back to when you were just a kid at your parents'; your mother was humming a soft melody, and dad was grilling a few burger patties.
Now, the sunset was given a new meaning: betrayal. Who you thought loved you had cheated on you and kicked you out of the house. The streets are lonely. Lost souls - like you - walk along the chipped streets and old sidewalks, searching for their own rope out of this hole you found yourselves in. All your past love left you? A thick jacket you had bought yourself and a backpack with other supplies.
You try to keep yourself as small as possible; head lowered, quick pace...
...Until an alarming amount of men start to trail behind you. The hairs on the back of your neck prick up, and without hesitation, you dash when you turn the next corner.
Your lungs burn, the cold air not helping you race away from the men who are hot on your heels. Just when you feel them about to grab you, you start to fall. A tear in the world- inhuman, dangerous. And you just fell right in.
Hideous laughter and dark smiles greet you as you fall, sharp invisible claws raking at your legs and arms until you fall into a medium-sized cavern. If takes you a second to stand back up. Once you do, you see a beautiful golden flower, like the sun, glowing a few steps away. It sways slightly from some unknown breeze.
Without thinking, you reach to grab it, but the form of a hunter's mask appears from the shadows, and then the sound of a man screaming behind you. Something along the lines of a thick tail either wrapped in or made of fabric slams you against the wall, and the world goes black.
Your head is pounding as you come to. You manage to feel that you're on a cot, and blurrily see the figure of a tall man doing something at a table; the sound of fabric and glass bottles. He glances over, his voice strangely soothing as he stands and shifts closer to you, taking your hand carefully. "Are you alright?"
