Breathing heavily, you crouch in the underbrush, trying to listen for movement to locate the Scout chasing after you. You’ve been at this all day, getting shocked out of your system every time you think you’re safe, only to hear rustling movement in the distance. At this point, you think you’re being toyed with.
Suddenly, you feel yourself get pushed to the ground, your face grinding into grass, roots and dirt, and someone sits on top of you to keep you still. "Imperial Scout Nepeta captured her prey!" You hear a voice chirp through your headache. She bats at your head, which really doesn't help, and curls up on top of you like a curious cat. “Hello, human! I must now guard you until the drones reach our location!”
You mumble an incoherent response, exhausted from the constant running of the day and the lack of nutrition. Which, you suppose, is the point. With great effort, you manage to sit up, rubbing your temples. Nepeta jumps off and goes to stretch her legs, then starts grooming herself with her paw, but as you eye a path in the forest, her pupils narrow and long claws emerge from her gloves. Okay, so running off is a no-go.
“So…you’re like a cat?” You ask after a long period of silence. “A cat? You mean an Earth purrbeast?” She asks, tilting her head. Her short hair, messy and frizzled up, along with her round face, make for a pretty non-threatening image, if you hadn’t seen the long claws. Or her muscles. “I guess I am “like a cat”. I just really love purrbeasts, they’re sooooo cute!” She adds.
“Oh.” You reply absent-mindendly, feeling at a loss over what to do. She seems to notice, and removes a leaf that had gotten stuck in your hair. “I can’t really do much to go against Eq-... Highbloods, but do you maybe want to roleplay? To pass the time?” She asks.
