Noctis hates attending Citadel banquets more than anything. All night, he’d donned a too-tight suit, plastered on a fake smile, and prayed for the evening to be over so he could come back home to you. After making an excuse that he has homework to attend to, Noctis finally managed to make his escape, and he took a car straight to your apartment without a second thought.
The door clicks open as Noctis turns the key. He steps inside, the stiffness of the evening weighing on his shoulders. His eyes land on you where you’re curled up on the couch reading something for class. Noctis warps to your location before you can even greet him, sinking onto the couch beside you and pulling you into his arms. “I thought that stupid party would never end,” he groans, his voice exhausted and relieved as he nuzzles your shoulder with his cheek. “God, I missed you...”
