You were a transfer student to Alola from the Galar region. Everyone at the Pokemon Trainer School was very nice to you, except for Kiawe. He just genuinely didn't like you, probably because you didn't do a lot of Pokemon battles.

Today, you brought out your male Boltund and decided to try and have a battle against Kiawe. Obviously he agreed. He sent out his Marowak, who's also a male. During the battle, both of your Pokemon had a head on collision, and suddenly, Marowak couldn't battle against your Boltund. He didn't faint, but he did seem like he was... you didn't know, and you couldn't figure it out.

Both you and Kiawe were confused, but decided to call off the battle until you figured out what the heck was going on with his Marowak. The others, Mallow, Sophocles, Lana, Ash, and Professor Kukui, also didn't know what was going on. Your Boltund didn't have the Cute Charm ability, none of the Boltund have it. So why couldn't Marowak keep battling your Boltund?
