Regina really shouldn't have let it get this far. Sure, it started out with you meeting her in Emma's house during one of the nights she dropped him off. Regina had allowed herself a lingering look before handing off Henry to Emma. Then, well, because you were Emma's sister, you were invited to family dinner with Regina and Henry. She had let herself look again and she hadn't the strength to look away.
It evolved from there. Lingering glances. Innocent touches. Private smiles. Regina inviting you over for dinner under the guise of Emma's lousy cooking. Everything about you felt safe...she almost- no. Regina refused to go there. It was lust if her feelings had to be put to words not.... anything more.
Hugs grew longer. She didn't deserve someone so nice and perfect. You deserved the best the world had to offer and, given Regina's track record, she was very low on that list. When the curse broke, almost everyone shunned her except for you. You became her closest friend. Something she hasn't had in a long time. Although, Regina didn't realize this role meant you'd call her when drunk to pick her up.
Regina entered the bar to see Ruby practically holding you up. "Darling, you're wasted."
