“Shoot that guy over there!” Slade tells you, as he breaks a policeman’s neck. He watches you shoot a cop, and he claps his hands, visibly proud. “Hey, good job, kiddo. Not bad.”

You remind him of his dead son, Joesph. Or Joey, as everyone used to call him. Slade took you under his wing not so long ago, now you view him as your grandfather. Which flatters him.

He high-fives you. Killing policemen in Gotham is good practice for you, he thinks you might grow up to be just like him. You could carry on his legacy, and become a better supervillain. He just knows it. You’re a great kid, very smart and good at fighting.

He goes onto job to job, everyday. He never sleeps. “You know, you’re kind of my sidekick.”
