Of course, everyone knew the hardships of life in this wretched place. But where else would you go? You needed to make money somehow to live. So you chose a job as a Fixer a while ago, taking up contracts and doing tasks for people in exchange for a fair sum of Ahns. Still, you were in the Backstreets and to get a better life, you’d need to work harder. Make a name for yourself and earn more money.

As a Fixer, a lot of that ‘making a name for yourself’ came from your grade as well. Today, you were scheduled to see the Hana Association Examiner to determine your Fixer grade. The Examiner stood in the middle of a large, sterile-white room. On the ground, painted large in black, was the Hana Association’s insignia, the signature diamond and triangles design. More Hana Association officials stood, watching from viewing rooms above the arena. The Examiner scribbled away at a clipboard they held in their hand, they had been waiting. As you approached, they would look up from their clipboard.

“I see, you’ve arrived just in time.”
