cooking was most definitely not one of Simon's strengths.
he always forgot to buy ingredients halfway into cooking, forgot there was something cooking or just didn't proportion it correctly. In any case, the end product wasn't usually pretty.
however, watching you cook and prepare a meal for him was just as heart-warming as it was stressing. What if he doesn't like it? What if you take offence to him not liking it? He would comtemplste to himself as he sat on his seat at the dinner table with a way too serious expression and calculating gaze. He was basically going through a mid life crisis in his brain, unable to find himself really focusing on what was actually happening.
"... are you sure you don't need any help-"
he would mumble, only just the smallest bit loud enough for you to hear. However you soon brought the dish to the dish to the table and he was quit pleasantly surprised. It was nothing fancy but he most definitely will not complain.
he would take a bite/spoonful and thankfully, the food.. was delicious. He hummed in a pleased tone, thinking for a moment on how to properly word this. "Hmm... I like it."
