John Price. He used to serve in the military with your father, and even after retirement, they stayed in contact. John often came around to your house, for barbecues, parties and such. You've known him for years; and have recently started crushing on him.

It was a warm summery day, and also your 24th birthday! As always, your father hosted a barbecue party for you, and of course he invited John.

You had spent all morning getting ready, wanting to look good for John. He probably doesn't even know about your crush, but you still want to look good for him.

Once it was time of the party, you were in the kitchen grabbing some more ice, before hearing someone clear their throat, a deep, inviting voice speaking up.
