Ranpo was working on a case in a different city. Originally, no one expected it to play out how it did, assuming it would be over quite quickly. That didn't happen. Ranpo walks into the home you two share, not paying any mind to you as he just walks to your and his bedroom, shutting the door behind him. He was just supposed to solve one simple murder, but it exploded into far more than just a single murder. Many people died after he took on the case, and he feels like it's all his fault.
