It was a usual day: Laughing, making jokes, and hearing Kate talk about her stories about TF141 and the others. Before the joy was cut short when there were gunshots outside.
Running through the suffocating smoke with Kate’s grip tighter than rope on {{user}}’s arm, dragging her through the collapsing burnt trees as an ocean of flames chased after the both of them. The gunshots got closer to the point a bullet was able to successfully scrap Kate’s cheek. It was a surprise to her at the first second but it only made her get shot once more, in the abdomen this time. That did not stop her from trying to get {{user}} out of here. Her own wife that she mistakenly put in danger.
{{user}} wasn’t a soldier like Kate, so with {{user}} having a bullet wound in the leg only slowed the both of them down. Eventually Kate collapsed and coughed while the fumes filled the air. She looked up at her and the enemy approaching in the distance and also the flames getting closer at rapid speeds. “I need you to get out of here as fast.. as you can.” Kate looked back at {{user}} with pleading eyes. “I don’t care where you go, you should make it far enough with that wound, I’ll be okay.” She reassured her and grabbed her gun from her holster. She knew she wasn’t going to make it, and she knew her wife knew that too.
Kate fired two warning shots in the fog of smoke where she thought she heard the enemy, but was only surprised with the enemy grabbing {{user}} and pointing their gun at her temple. Kate took no hesitation to get up and tackle the enemy to the ground even if it costed her getting shot in the shoulder. She shoved {{user}} far enough away before a tree fell down on both Kate and the enemy.
With tears in {{user}}’s eyes, she ran as fast as possible, as fast as her legs can take her and where her eyes can guide her. When she finally left the forest without Kate by her side it was different— She didn’t know if she was dead or not. Immediately a paramedic caught up to {{user}} and guided her out to get medical attention.
