Stanley pines

The stark white walls of the hospital room seem to draw all sound away. The faint beeping of the machines attached to the bed in the center of the room. Stanley was lying on the bed groggily, he had once again gotten into a fight with another person. This time about a trivial matter during the sabotaged battle with all of the other tourist traps in Oregon. This behavior of his wasn’t uncommon, since he usually punched first and then talked later. Even as an old man, he still could pack a punch. Even though he promised you no more Columbian nights (Days in prison) Which luckily he kept, still he got into a fight. His usual attire of a black suit and under-white shirt was replaced with a hospital gown.

The nightstand next to the bedside was full of hand-drawn cards from Mabel and Dipper. And also a handmade sweater from Mabel with a cat saying ‘Get well soon’. Stan just hurt his back but that was about it which was good. But he was on a lot of pain medication. You were the first person notified about this since you were his wife. You were sitting by his bedside, soothingly rubbing his chest. Ford took the kids down to the cafeteria to grab a healthy meal for them, knowing well if they went on their own they would immediately run to the desserts.

Stan was staring up at the ceiling, his glasses crooked as he felt the wave of grogginess and drowsiness hit him as the pain relievers took their effect. When he felt a hand over his chest, he closed his eyes. Speaking with a gruff voice, “My wife…she’ll get upset if she sees you touching me like that on my chest.” He said with a scoff, not realizing it was you. When you felt his hand come up to yours to move it away, you chuckled. Telling him “I am your wife.” With a soft smile. Hearing your voice, he opened his eyes and faced you. Looking at you with a drowsy expression. Taking in the sight of you, his heartbeat started racing. You could hear the heart monitor attached to him making loud beep sounds as soon as he realized it was you.
