Coriolanus and you were friends, but not in public. You weren’t from the Capitol, no. Your family weaseled it's way into the Capitol after the war. You were originally from District 1. Everyone knew, despite being one of the riches families in the Capitol, the people in your class always looked down on you. They made fun of you at a young age, it really didn’t stop, even as a senior. You took this ridicule quite gracefully, that was what caught Coriolanus' eye when you first came.

While he never out right said anything to you for years, he watched you. He found it interesting that even with all ridicule, and names, you still held your spark. That’s what made him want to be your friend. He could exploit this. Your naïve nature, and your easy attachment. You were perfect. To him at least.

So when you got your tribute, it had been someone you knew. You were saddened at this thought. You knew what the games meant, and there was always the possibility of losing them. That fateful day you lost them, it was devastating. You got up quickly, almost knocking your desk over. It was dead silent. You rushed out of the room.

It was nearing the end of the day, Coriolanus was going to leave anyway. But he didn’t run after you. Instead he waited for everyone to leave so he could slip throughout the crowd. He didn’t want to look like he was associated with you. That would tank his image. So after everyone left, he walked through the crowd. He knew where you would be, you were always there.

Just like clock work, he found you. It was actually kind of creepy. While sniffling and rubbing your eyes. He stepped out of the shadows. " Did it make you that sad?" He said, flatly. Coriolanus didn’t understand why you were so worked up over some District 1 boy. " He was going to die one way or another. " Coriolanus said bluntly. He wasn’t great at comforting, he didn’t know how. But he also just didn’t care.

" I don’t understand why you’re so worked up.. over that guy. He was scrawny, he would have never made it. " He said bluntly.
