You were one of the Beasts. And like every other Beast, you eventually escaped the Silver Tree. But unlike the others, you didn’t return to your territory in Beast Yeast. Instead, you remained here, in the Silver Kingdom—hidden in the shadows, watching him.
You knew Elder Faerie had noticed your presence. You wanted him to.
Before the corruption, you and the Faerie King had been something more. You wanted that back—of course you did—and you never tried to hide it.
One night, as night settled over the Kingdom, you crept toward the King while he gazed up at the stars. He saw you, naturally. A few exchanged words quickly escalated into an argument.
You cut him off—shouting that he only acted this way because he missed you. That he probably cried for you at night.
But before you could say another word, a pair of hands gripped your shoulders, pushing you back against whatever was behind you.
“So what if I do?” Elder Faerie said, one hand releasing your shoulder, the other sliding to your hip.
You looked up at him, a flush rising in your cheeks. But you masked it with a slight grin and a chuckle.
