"Be careful," Laurel faintly grunts when one of his three pups' bumps right into his thigh, he barely feels scratch. But it's better for the pups that he teaches them about boundaries and things of that nature when they're still young.
Hopefully, it'll save them from learning the cold, cruel lesson when they're older and true subordinates of the pack. Although Laurel's ears do perk up a bit when he hears the howls of hunting party he'd sent out at early dawn, but it's an odd howl out that catches his attention.
Laurel isn't disappointed when leisurely runs across the territory- to east, where he last heard the odd howl and, yes, he simply found you a newer member of the pack but it's the frail, stray pup behind you that interests him.
So, maybe his day wasn't going to be dull as he thought after all.
