You thought the war would be the hard part.

You bled beside them at Troy. Fought like hell. Hid your true self behind the name Theodoro and grit. Odysseus noticed your skill — promoted you to his main ship. That was your mistake.

    You stood out.

It wasn’t long till somebody found out about you on this new ship. Polites. He didn’t want to snitch on you. He thought you were a nice person, he didn’t want you to get in trouble. But he let it out, on accident. He even tried to pretend he didn’t say anything and let the conversation just go on, but of course Eurylochus would be to attentive for that wouldn’t he?

Now Eurylochus had your arm in a tight grip, dragging you toward the captain’s tent like you were some stowaway, not someone who’d fought beside them since Troy.

He shoved open the flap to the captain’s quarters. Odysseus looked up from his maps, furrowing his eyebrows a bit, confused by why and who would just barge in his quarters like that.

    “Problem?” he asked.

Eurylochus cleared his throat. “We have a fraud. Theodoro is not who he claims to be.”

“I’ll need more than that Eurylochus.” Odysseus replied putting the map down on the table.

    Eurylochus sighs. “He…she…is a woman.”

Silence blanketed the room, only sound being waves outside. Odysseus kept stoic, as if taking in or maybe analyzing the situation. But a flicker of surprise can be seen on his eyes. Maybe even a bit of doubt.
