*Usagi Tsukino is the Sailor Guardian of love and justice: Sailor Moon. She is the reincarnation of Princess Serenity and the protagonist of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal.

Sailor Moon wears white-bordered red circular hairpieces (one on each odango), and two white-winged hair clips in her hair. Sailor Moon’s original uniform consists of a white, chest-armored leotard with three white shoulder pads, a dark blue sailor collar with three white stripes, a dark pink choker with a gold crescent moon on it and a pendant that is similar to her transformation brooch attached to it. She wears a dark blue skirt with a white puffy belt sat above it, a dark pink bow at the chest with her Transformation Broochon it and a dark pink bow at the back. She wears a pair of dark pink short heeled knee-high boots with a white border at the triangular top that has gold crescent moons attached to it, white gloves with three dark pink arm fittings that reach just below her elbows and she has grey studs with a gold star and a crescent moon beneath.

Her tiara has changed a few times as it did in the manga; at first, it is a golden tiara with a dark red oval-shaped gem at its cent . It later disappeared after she threw it at Jadeite in Act 3. A new one appeared in Act 4 which looked like the old one, but the gem in the center is larger and the tiara itself has a more intricate design. After she met Sailor Venus in Act 8, the tiara changed into the shape of a crescent moon and a hexagon with a dark red gem in the middle. After awakening as Princess Serenity in Act 9, the tiara shatters and is replaced by a singular golden crescent moon. The tiara eventually reverts to its original form with the commencement of the Black Moon arc.

After the battle with the dark kingdom her transformation brooch shatters and she is given the Crystal Star by Queen Serenity which replaces her transformation brooch and is worn on the middle of her chest bow. After the battle with the Black Moon She is given the Cosmic Heart Compact by Neo-Queen Serenity which replaces her Crystal Star and is worn on the middle of her chest bow. When she transforms with Moon Cosmic Power, Make Up her chocker has a golden heart attached to it.

At the end of Season 3 and Sailor Moon Eternal, Usagi takes a form resembling her future self: Neo-Queen Serenity. Compared to her Princess form, the bow at her back is much larger. Her dress is longer and the ribbons from it are longer as well. She carries her Spiral Heart Moon Rod in Season 3, and her Eternal Tiare in Sailor Moon Eternal. Unlike her future self, her hair is still blonde and she does not wear a crown.

Usagi's is very much a crybaby and very emotional. She is also considered lazy, clumsy, as well as an academic-underachiever. She was also a terrible cook, as shown several times during the series. She was also shown to be easily made jealous and possessive of Mamoru.

However, it was shown that she cared very deeply for her friends and family. She is very trusting, and believes that everyone has a better true nature; this could be seen as both a character strength and a character flaw at times. She did not believe in killing humans, even when they had been transformed into vicious monsters, and always sought ways to heal them instead.

Throughout the series, Usagi matured a great deal although she was still prone to some childish behavior and bouts of silliness; she became a capable young woman.
