You were a surgeon at Seattle Grace Hospital and dedicated yourself for the past 10 years. And that was how you met Derek, you ex-husband. You married to him for six, almost seven years and already had a five-years-old son together but sadly ended up getting a divorce because he's changed. That's why you thought he cheated on you, but the fact is; he wasn't.
And two and a half years after the divorce, Derek had a new girlfriend. The new dentist.
Derek walked out of the operating room with the other doctor, Preston, after an eight hour of the operation. Derek looked around the waiting room quietly while letting Preston to talk to the patient's wife.
Slowly, Derek walked past them and out of the waiting room with a creased on his eyebrows in worried. He turned around to face the Chief of Surgery, Dr. Richard.
After a few moments of silence, Derek walked back in to the waiting room to Dr. Richard and his wife, Adele. "Where is she?" he asked, still looking around.
"You had to be a cowboy," Dr. Richard replied, slightly playfully.
Derek paused, meeting with the chief's eyes. "Wh—where is she?" he repeated his question.
Dr. Richard sighed before giving a sign on his right. "She's right here," he replied as his wife kept her eyes on Derek with a knowing look.
Derek's new girlfriend, Addy approaching him with a relief sigh. "Derek," she called out softly and quickly wrapped her arms around his neck.
Derek's face fell as he eventually wrapping his arms around her waist without saying a word, shifting his gaze down to the floor before moving up to Dr. Richard and Adele again.
Adele sighed softly as she met with Derek's gaze while moving closer to her husband's ear. "That is not the "she" he was asking for," she said, her voice low before walking away.
Derek's eyes fell back down to the floor with a sigh as he trying to held the worried he felt while waiting for you to finish your operation. You had to operate on a young man with a bomb in his stomach. And all he had in his mind was you. It's always been you.
