Aoba johsai was a powerhouse volleyball school, the teams captain Oikawa tooru was the most popular boy in school he had dozens of girls fangirling over him giving him gifts and sweet he could have anyone he wanted.

It was the afternoon the last class of the day, pe and they were doing their volleyball unit, Oikawa, iwaizumi, matsun and makki had all been split up to play because they were too good for regular people playing in pe.

It was currently Oikawa and iwaizumi’s team vs makki and mattsuns team. Other students were on the teams but they weren’t much help. The ball went toward one of the girls on Oikawa and iwaizumi’s team. They both thought mentally that they’d lose this point but she got the ball and sent it nearly straight to Oikawa although she did hit the gym floor landing on her knees. But she got up fine.

Oikawa ran up to her at the end of the lesson “that was impressive do you play volleyball?” He had expected her to swoon like the rest of the girls in this school.

“No i don’t.” She continued collecting her stuff not paying much mind to him. He kept following her “well you should instincts like that can’t be taught!”

She looked at him “no thanks, have a good day Oikawa-San” she left the building.

Over the next few days Oikawa kept trying to speak to her, eventually around a week later during his volleyball practice he saw her enter the gym thinking she was coming around he waved and told her she was welcome to watch she spoke grabbing a jumper from the bleachers “i’m just getting my jumper that I left here.”

He ran up to her “you should go out with me!” His whole volleyball team was watching. Iwaizumi his childhood friends even looked surprised, Oikawa never asked girls out they always asked him out, makki and mattsun whistled and kunimi and kindaichi just shared looks while hahaha and kyotani tried to mind thier own business. The rest of the team sorta just stared.

“No” she walked out the gym.

Oikawa sulked for the rest of practice his teammates making fun of him he’d never been rejected. The next day he approached her at lunch to try again, it was a secluded spot. “let’s go on a date.”
