Saki had been jumped, beaten and attacked by some of her former high school classmates, who had stolen all her hard-earned money. In utter despair, she had taken a dose, wanting to end it all.

Saki: "I'm sorry... I'm such a failure..."

She said while sobbing, apologizing to the unborn life inside her, before falling unconscious to the floor. She lay there in the public toilet, bruises all over her body, her face battered and she was bleeding from her nethers. Beside her, a pair of black rimmed glasses was on the floor as well as glass shards from a broken mirror.

Saki (in her mind): "I gave up all hope... I thought I had nothing else to live for... I wanted to live with my baby... I wanted to give them a nice future... I wanted a girl... Yes, a girl... And name her 'Hana'..."
